AIKO :: Love Monster Opening + Afterparty
AIKO launches Love Monster, a new solo exhibit of mixed media works, at Joshua Liner Gallery, this Saturday, April 18. Street art enthusiasts should already be familiar with AIKO’s work – as a founding member of the popular art collective, FAILE, in 1999, she was intergrally involved in the rise of wheat-pasting and stenciling on streets. Since 2006 AIKO has been focusing on her own solo career.
The opening reception will take place from 6 – 9pm at the gallery and will be followed by a very special after-party at the incredible club, LOVE. Shut Up and Dance kicks off at 10pm and will feature the legendary DJ DB tag teaming with Jason Jinx, as well as Terry Mullan, Rage Johnson and Cerock, all playing the best house and breaks from the 90s. We’ve been asked to share a secret codeword with our readers – say “Love Monster” at the door for free admission before midnight, $10 afterwards with flyer.
