On View :: Keiichi Tanaami – Germany + Japan
Highly influential Japanese pop artist, Keiichi Tanaami, currently has two solo exhibits on display, at Galerie Gebr. Lehmann, in Dresden, Germany, and Nanzuka Underground, Tokyo. Tanaami has been at the forefront of Asian art and design long before Murakami earned the (questionable) title of Asia’s Andy Warhol. In fact, it was Tanaami who spent time working in Warhol’s NY Factory in 1968. With over fifty solo exhibitions to his credit, and a career of painting, sculpture, film, and animation that spans five decades, Keiich Tanaami continues to expand upon an inarguable legacy and further solidify his standing in contemporary art history.
Take a look at Lifelounge’s interview with the artist and click through for more images.
