Greg Simkins and David Choong Lee at Joshua Liner Gallery

Chelsea’s Joshua Liner Gallery hosted the opening last night of two must-see shows by California artists Greg “Craola” Simkins and David Choong Lee. Simkins’ It Wanders East consists of a stunning new collection of paintings that combine a “Burtonesque” pop-surrealist style with a nod to classical European painting. Choong Lee’s Village of Wind is a fireworks display of colorfully painted cigar boxes and wine crates, incorporating organic shapes, geometric patterns and realistic portraits.
