Donny Miller::Big 3 Bake Sale
Donny Miller, notorious artist-provocateur extraordinaire, took the opportunity of staging his ‘bake sale’ on the final day of the Los Angeles Auto Show, just in time to save the automakers (who are in Congress again this week). In the video of the installation, there are a range of responses, but don’t miss the surprise ending that is particularly hilarious.

Greg Lamarche and Anthony Lister Contained
Thanks to The World’s Best Ever for reminding us about tonight’s opening of Contain at Anonymous Gallery. The show is a gallery extension of last week’s three-day site-specific installation, featuring Greg Lamarche, Anthony Lister, Maya Hayuk, and Monica Canilao. Each artist was invited to design the interior of separate shipping containers at two outdoor locations in New York. Here, we present you with our photos from both Lamarche and Lister’s projects, which were situated on 22nd Street and 11th Ave., outside of the Chelsea Art Museum. Lamarche’s piece was almost a real-life adaptation of his illustrations, and a perfect extension of his art. Lister’s container was far more confounding, and included three live white rats, bound around the waist by plastic ties and wires, and attached to bricks hindering their movement. We’ll let you be the judge, so check out the images after the jump and click for larger view. Read the rest of this entry »
