Judgement Day For London Contemporary Auctions
After the lackluster performance of Christies’ and Sotheby’s in New York this past November, it’s now London’s turn to face an anticipated beating in the next round of contemporary art auctions. If Art Tactic’s predictions of a 3 to 5 year recovery are any sign of things to come, this weekend’s sales at the big three auction houses are bound to solidify that market confidence has evaporated, and has a long road of recovery ahead.
Here’s the lineup:
Feb 5 – Sotheby’s – Contemporary Evening Sale
Feb 6 – Sotheby’s Contemporary Day Sale
Feb 11 – Christies – Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale
Feb 12 – Christies – Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale
