The Crossing, 2009. 36 x 48″, gouache on panel. (All Images via Joshua Liner Gallery)
Evan Hecox’s ambitious undertaking, The Last Thousand Years, opens this weekend in New York. The artist will fill both galleries of Joshua Liner’s exhibit space, unveiling one of his largest solo shows to date and first with the gallery. For the show, he has created a large body of gouache on panel works that paint intimate urban snapshots, this time using recent travels to Vietnam as his muse. In conjunction with the exhibit, the gallery has produced a new 19-color screen based on one of Hecox’s new paintings (pictured below). Priced at $350, Red Banner is a signed and numbered edition of 50 measuring 24″ x 30″ .
