Tonight :: Jeff Soto Signing @ Riverside Art Museum

Sonic Youth Sensational Fix Calalogue
A catalog has been published in conjunction with the exhibit Sonic Youth Etc.: Sensational Fix. The exhibit focuses on SY’s multidisciplinary collaborations with visual artists, filmmakers, designers and musicians over the course of their highly influential 28 year history, including Richard Prince, Paul McCarthy, Harmony Korine, Christian Marclay, Raymond Pettibon, Cindy Sherman, Robert Smithson, and Jeff Wall. The 720 pg. book is limited to 600 copies and includes two 7″ records, each one recorded by a different member of the band.
The exhibit (which recently finished its stint at MUSEION in Bolzano, Italy (October 10 – January 4, 2009) will make its next stop at Kunsthalle, Dusseldorf, Germany, from January 31 to April 26, 2009.

Shepard Fairey Signing Today
Shepard Fairey will be signing copies of his new book, E Pluribus Venom, today at La Luz De Jesus Gallery, in Los Angeles. The book documents Fairey’s simultaneous gallery show and warehouse installation with Jonathan Levine Gallery this past July. Works from the show can be seen here

New Chris Johanson + Jo Jackson Artist Book
Nieves has just released a new small edition artist book by Chris Johanson and Jo Jackson, entitled Peaceable Kingdom. The edition features 32 full color pages of collaborative pieces by the creative couple. Buy it here for a modest $20. While there, do yourself a favor and browse the amazing collection of art books and zines produced by the Zurich based publisher, and pick up two or three for yourself. They will make you happy. KAWS in ANP QUARTERLY
The new issue of free arts magazine, ANP Quarterly, arrives this week at select distributors. It includes a cover story and 14 page spread on KAWS, including a photo shoot in the artist’s studio by Terry Richardson, and an interview with ANP editor, Brendan Fowler. After so much new information being revealed in the June KAWS crossover edition of i-D and last week’s New York Times magazine (including details on forthcoming gallery shows, brand collaborations, and artist editions), it will be interesting to see what is dropped this time around.
